About Me:
I was born in Mosonmagyaróvár in 1972, where I attended primary school.
My secondary school years were spent in Győr, at the Pattantyús Ábrahám Géza Industrial Secondary School.
I graduated in 1990, and then attended the Széchenyi István College (now University)
until 1993, majoring in Informatics.
The Beginning of the Radio Hobby
Even in my childhood, I was interested in electrical engineering, physics, and computer science.
My first radio experiences involved medium-wave radio broadcasts. In secondary school,
I first encountered amateur radio at the HA1KTK radio club. During these years, I also experimented with
handheld CB radios. The real breakthrough came with the emergence of packet radio towards the end of
my college years, which prompted me to take a VHF exam. I began broadcasting with the call sign HG1DBQ
in the VHF band, primarily focusing on packet radio. At the end of the 90s, I moved from Mosonmagyaróvár
to my current QTH, and a long break in radio operations followed.
A New Era
In the summer of 2024, I began taking steps to restart my radio activities. I successfully regained my old call
sign and radio license. I first established the capability for shortwave (HF) operation. Development is ongoing,
and a VHF project is currently underway.
Plans
My plan is to explore the widest possible range of radio operating possibilities within the framework of amateur radio.
